Hello friend!

We are certainly in unchartered territory at the moment, aren’t we? I know it’s scary out there right now with things being canceled and everyone stocking up on supplies, but something I keep trying to remind myself is that these cancellations and social distancing measures are actually a beautiful example of how willing we are to come together to protect and support one another. And that’s truly awe-inspiring.

Since I do most of my work in-person at yoga and cooking classes, both of which have been canceled for the foreseeable future, I wanted to share with you the guided meditation that I end each and every one of my yin classes with. It’s been requested for years that I make a recording and well I guess it took a global pandemic for me to finally put it out there for you.

One of the best things you can do to support your immune system is to properly manage your stress response and get enough sleep. I go into more detail in the posts linked in the previous sentence, but suffice it to say that when you are constantly in fight or flight mode (from stress, lack of sleep, etc.) your immune system function is dampened, which can make you more prone to illness.

This meditation is designed to help you turn off the chatter of your brain and drift off to a deep, restful sleep. Please do not listen to the meditation while driving, operating heavy machinery, or doing anything else that requires alert attention. I recommend listening as you get ready for sleep, cozy in bed with pillows and blankets all around and your lights off, but you can listen any time you need a few minutes to calm your brain during the day.
