Hi friends! Thank you all for being so patient with me over the last couple of weeks. I know I haven’t been posting much because my grandfather passed away at the end of June and so the last little while has been filled with a lot of back and forth traveling across the country, family visits, and of course my very first retreat! During times of loss it’s so important to be surrounded by loved ones and I am so incredibly fortunate to have been able to fly back to NS to spend time with my big, loud, crazy, awesome family. We were able to celebrate my Grampa’s life and send him off in true Kenny Clan fashion, complete with fiddle during mass and lots of off-key singing at the celebration of his life. I think he would have been pleased.
I found out that my Grampa passed away on Friday during my retreat and decided to dedicate all the classes and workshops that I taught to his memory. He was so proud of me for following my dreams and having adventures (he was a world traveler with more stories than I would ever be able to type up!) that I knew he would have wanted me to stay and make it the best damn retreat there ever was. And Regan and I did, if I do say so myself 😉
I wanted to share some photos from our first retreat together to give you all a snapshot of some of the exciting things to come. We are definitely hooked on Re-Treating and are already planning a Saskatchewan and an East Coast variation for next spring and summer! So hop on in and take a look. We hope to see you at the next one.
And I’ll be back next week with my regular posting and recipes. Have a wonderfully whimsical weekend!

Summertime often means lots of cocktails and sometimes it can be hard to say no when you don’t have something delicious to sub it with. Never fear! I whipped up a kombucha mocktail for our guests that gave the fizzy fun without the headache! 1/2 cucumber, sliced into rounds 1 lime, cut into wedges 1 handful of mint, mildly muddled 2 cups kombucha (berry or rose flavour) 1 bottle soda water Combine in a pitcher and let muddle for 30 minutes.
